Mobup in Sun headquarters

Being in Sun is probably something like being near the gotha of Java, you can thus imagine our happiness when we were invited to join the guys from the Java Mobile Developers Forum this morning for a day packed with great presentations (albeit I was forced to leave the seminar just after lunch, damn).
Note: I’ll have to carefully follow the operations behind the launch of Handango Italy: its 19 yrs old country manager is really unusual fir this country but looks really prepared.

We showcased Mobup; well probably I’d say I just introduced the philosophy behind Mobup while Vincenzo took the listeners down to the source code for the rest of the speech. But we talked to programmers and programmers’ stuff was their bread.

I’d really like to thank Edoardo Schepis from SUN/JMDF for the opportunity and the friendly atmosphere we found (mad props go to Stefano Sanna, probably the greatest of our new – shall I say – friends)

While waiting for Edoardo’s photos you can take a look at some of the shots we mobupped at the beginning of the seminar.”

Lift06: Life, Ideas, Future. Together.

I was planning to write a post on the new MacBook Pro, but it’ll have to wait since I’ve just received an invitation to speak at the Lift06 conference in Geneve: its aim is “to connect people who are passionate about new applications of technology and propel their conversations into the broader world to improve life and work”.

I’m really proud to be in such a good company and can’t wait to be there. Take a look at the impressive program to make your own idea.

What? Are you wondering what is going to be my speech topic? Well I’m happy to say it’s my older baby: Flash Voice! A voice controlled, internet based, assistive software for elderly and disabled, with an (mostly invisible) Flash interface.

I’ll be in Geneve for the 2 conference days, should you be in town and like to chat with a beer in your hand just drop me a line.

Taxiguerrilla – the (e)book

Here’s the cover of the first book (also available for download in electronic format) from my pal Simone. It’s actually my present for Christmas and his birthday: it’s been a tough work which involved his girlfriend (who took care of the editorial stuff) and our friend Livio (who created the wonderful artwork for front/back covers. Francesca’s gone through the whole Taxiguerrilla archives (nearly 3 years of writings) and has chosen the best pieces, then reorganized them in a form suitable for a book. The book (Italian only) is self-published and available for FREE download (Simone is takin a full review of the book, so it’s not available anymore. Stay tuned.) on taxiguerrillathebook.hotmc.com; a preview (PDF file) is available here.
